What can I/can’t I sell?
Mumconomy is designed for New Zealand mums to showcase and sell products or services that reflect their personal skills and creativity. All listings must be family-friendly. We do not allow MLM (multi-level marketing) products or courses that you did not personally create. Sellers must currently reside in New Zealand so a NZ phone number and region is required. If you come across a listing that seems inappropriate or concerning, please report it to us for review.
What are the fees?
We add on a $2 Service Fee for buyers and sellers to cover our payment platform costs. We aim to keep fees affordable and transparent, but they may be updated from time to time at Mumconomy’s discretion.
Do I need to be a mum to buy/sell?
Anyone is welcome to purchase from our marketplace. However, to sell on Mumconomy, you must be a mum living in New Zealand. Our mission is to support mums in using their skills to generate income, with the flexibility to work from home.
What about taxes?
Before you start earning, there are a couple of important things to be aware of:
- Money you earn may need to be declared as income
- You may be considered self-employed (a sole trader)
- GST usually only applies if you earn over $60,000 per year
